The One Laptop Per Child initiative has not lived up to the dreams of its progenitors. I am grateful for failures like this. And to think they wanted to make 150 million of these useless toys. I am a skeptic concerning technology in education, but more like a rabid reactionary when it comes to shipping computers to countries plagued by food riots.

I SOO smell what you are steppin' in! It drives me crazy when people talk about the "digital divide" and solar powered computers for 3rd or even 2nd world countries. How about food, medical care or a small business loan for their parents so they can have a means of supporting thier families?
I mean, I am all for giving tools, such as technology, to suceed but give the right tool for the situation!
