Time May Not Exist
The sum total of what I learned from this article is that 'attosecond' is a real word. I'll have to stop reprimanding my children when they use it.
On a related note, if you ever want to feel really dumb, pick up a book on quantum physics.

If I want to really feel real dumb I pick up a Stephen King book. Nothing like a story about a revenge driven car or a demonic clown to make me feel really stupid.

I think it's good to come to terms with the fact that the universe is way, way weirder than we can ever imagine.
I am going to cite this article to my wife next time I'm late.

ON a related note, there have been studies that prove that clocks in motion are affected by time differently; it is for this reason that the atomic clock in Boulder, CO runs faster than the one in Paris, France (because it's further from the earth's center of gravity, it moves a greater distance at the same speed, thus having a greater velocity). This has been proved by the observation of Muons on Mt. Washington during the 50's. Unfortunately, time only changes at speeds near the speed of light. Otherwise, if you were running late, you could take a clock with you to buy you some time as you sped to your appointment.
